servetje in hun boord tegen het klieren.

Het restaurant heet nu joyeus De Keuken,
met tegels om de keuken op te leuken.
Er zijn wel negen soorten vruchtenthee.
Marie en Fientje werden Marthe, Fini
en een kadetje noemt men een panini.
Straks moeten we aan de saucisse fumée.

The oldies here consume their daily ration
of hotchpotch, kale and sausage, on their plate
a paper serviette to keep things straight.
And porridge with brown sugar’s quite in fashion.
The Kitchen is the restaurant’s swish name,
with lots of tiles to imitate the same.
They’ve nine or so fruit teas in fine array.
