Poem about Creation by Gerrit Krol

creation

And God created heaven & earth,
a chest without content:

the idea that things are sometimes similar
e.g. two chairs,
that’s why you say two,
and that they are sometimes dissimilar,
e.g. from a table,
that’s why you say chair

and God created heaven & earth
a meatball
and he created knife & fork,

he created a goshawk that cannot drink
as a chicken

he created heaven & earth
as a cabbage cut through the middle,
halves on their backs
that still move.
