Die Ros‘ ist ohn‘ Warum;

sie blühet, weil sie blühet;

Sie acht‘ nicht ihrer selbst,

fragt nicht, ob man sie siehet.

 

No reason has the rose;

it blooms and blooms renew it;

it does not heed itself,

or ask if one can view it.
