Niet Alice in Wonderland,
maar Alice net terug: is dit weer
een nieuw wonderland? Nee, dit is gewoon,
na lange afwezigheid, de werkelijkheid.
Was ook de politiek maar zo, dit
in de realiteit aankomen als in een
ouwe fermette, en zeggen: dit is een
dragende muur, die laten we staan,
die en die muren moeten weg, daar
maken we grote ruimtes van.

Not Alice in Wonderland,
but Alice just back: is this yet
another wonderland? No, it is, after
a long absence, simply reality.
If only politics was like that, this
arrival in reality as if in an
old smallholding and saying: this is a
bearing wall, we’ll leave it alone,
this and that wall must go, by so doing
we will create lots of space.
